Policies

  • At ChildFirst Supervision, children’s safety and wellbeing are the highest priority at all times. All services are delivered with a child-focused approach that recognises each child’s individual needs and circumstances.

Any suspected abuse or neglect will be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities in line with mandatory reporting obligations. Supervision practices are designed to ensure children are safe during visits, changeovers, and transportation. All actions taken by the ChildFirst supervisor are guided by professional, ethical, and child-focused standards.

  • ChildFirst Supervision respects the privacy of all families and individuals engaging with the service. Client information, records, and reports are treated as confidential and stored securely.

Information is shared only with relevant parties, such as parents or legal representatives, where required by agreement, court order, or law. All privacy practices comply with applicable local privacy legislation.

  • ChildFirst Supervision provides services in environments that are safe, appropriate, and suitable for children. This may include parks, cafés, or approved indoor venues, depending on the nature of the service and the child’s needs.

Where transportation is provided, vehicles comply with safety standards and child restraint laws. Emergency procedures are in place to respond to accidents, injuries, or illness. Hygiene and infection control measures are maintained to support children’s health and wellbeing.

  • ChildFirst Supervision offers supervised contact through face-to-face and, where appropriate, online visits. Contact is conducted in safe, neutral environments agreed upon in advance.

The ChildFirst supervisor observes interactions and will intervene only where necessary to maintain safety and appropriate boundaries. Any incidents, concerns, or significant observations are documented in professional reports.

  • Supervised changeovers facilitated by ChildFirst Supervision are designed to support calm and respectful transitions for children. Changeovers are conducted in safe, neutral locations to minimise stress and conflict.

High-conflict situations are managed carefully with the child’s wellbeing as the primary consideration. Transport protocols are followed where applicable. Facility-based changeovers are conducted respectfully and in accordance with venue rules and expectations.

  • Where transportation forms part of the service, ChildFirst Supervision ensures children are transported safely using appropriate seat belts and child restraints.

Routes and timings are planned to reduce stress and support a calm experience for children. Any delays, incidents, or emergencies will be communicated to parents as soon as possible.

  • ChildFirst Supervision prepares reports that are objective, factual, and professional. Reports include observations of parent–child interactions, behaviours, concerns, and notable events during supervised contact.

Reports are suitable for Family Court and related proceedings and are delivered securely and within agreed timeframes.

  • The ChildFirst supervisor may be required to attend court or provide evidence when requested through a subpoena or court order.

All court-related information is handled objectively, professionally, and confidentially. ChildFirst Supervision complies fully with all legal obligations relating to subpoenas and court attendance.

  • ChildFirst Supervision welcomes feedback and encourages concerns to be raised directly via phone, email, or in writing.

All complaints are acknowledged promptly and managed in a professional and respectful manner. Where matters cannot be resolved internally, concerns may be escalated to the relevant regulatory authority.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled service will incur the full session fee.

If a child is unwell, the visit may be rescheduled at no additional cost, subject to the ChildFirst supervisor’s availability. Refunds are not provided for cancelled visits due to illness; however, every effort will be made to offer the next available appointment time.

  • All parties engaging with ChildFirst Supervision are expected to maintain respectful and appropriate behaviour during visits, transportation, and all interactions.

Professional boundaries with clients and families are upheld at all times. The ChildFirst supervisor remains impartial, professional, and respectful, and maintains confidentiality throughout the service.
